Chrome tourmaline is a specific type of green tourmaline whose intense emerald-like green color is produced by the presence of chromium or vanadium in its chemical composition. Rare and highly desired, chrome tourmalines are mined only in Tanzania and are quite rare in sizes over 4 carats. Tourmaline is designated as the October birthstone and for the 8th wedding anniversary.
