Dendritic Quartz

Quartz with dendrite inclusions is termed dendritic quartz. Dendrites are inclusions of manganese, iron or other oxides that grow in a fractal pattern with an appearance similar to trees or branches. In fact, the word dendrite comes from the Greek word “dendron”, which means tree. Internal dendrites create bold patterns of black, brown, orange and red within colorless, yellow, orange or brown quartz. Each piece is completely natural and a unique work of art as no two dendrite patterns are exactly the same. Dendritic quartz is found worldwide with the most notable deposits located in Brazil, India, China, Uruguay and the U.S.
