Heliodor (Golden Beryl)
Heliodor is the yellow variety of the mineral species beryl. The name heliodor is derived from the Greek words helios “sun” and doron “gift”. This delightfully cheerful member of the same gem family as emerald, aquamarine and morganite occurs in shades of yellow ranging from pale lemon to vivid canary as well as pale lime (greenish yellow) and gold (brownish yellow). Heliodor is also known as golden beryl. Heliodor is found in Madagascar, Brazil, Namibia and Nigeria.
