The popularity of white metals has elevated demand for stones like Aquamarine and creates and intersting look compared to traditional stones. Designated as the birthstone for March and given for the 25th wedding anniversary, Aquamarine symblizes courage and joy. Typically, Aquamarine is heat-treated for color purity. It is the greenish blue variety of beryl (Emerlad) but, unlike Emeralds, will hold up better to daily wear. Most Aquamarine is mined in South America and Africa.
