Add a little color to your sparkle!

This beautiful and much underappreciated gem comes in a variety of colors including vibrant ruby red, fiery flame orange, vivid pink, pastel pink, delicate lavender/mauve, blue and an unusual pale steely blue or lavender known as “gray”. Spinels actually have a long and illustrious history but unfortunately were often misidentified as other popluar gems. In fact, many of the famous “rubies” of history such as “the Black Prince’s ruby” in the British Crown Jewels are spinels! Spinels are found in Sri Lanka and Myanmar. Spinel is designated for the 22nd wedding anniversary and was recently added as a second birthstone for August.
